Sydney's 1st Grade Christmas Program

Sydney's first grade program was a success! She did a great job singing! All four of the 1st grade girls sang "Do you want to build a snowman" all by there selves. They did a great job!

All of the elementary classes singing together.

The 1st Graders being chipmunks. Sydney is in black and grey.

And this stinker was quite entertaining with his outbursts when it was completely quiet in the gym. Like..."hey where is Santa going" or "Excuse me people I need to leave" and "where's the chicken?" Ugh....this child had the crowd laughing.

The Many Stories of Trace

Trace has quite the imagination and he is a great story teller! Here are a few:

Trace was telling Heath one of his stories last night and Heath said I think you lost your brain. Trace said no dad, the rhino found it for me and it's right here. As he is pointing to his head.

Trace:  Last night my dad shot a wolf.
Grandpa: Really! What color was it?
Trace: One was black , I was brown, one was black and brown, one was yellow and one was dark blue.  My dad shot a bear, too!
Grandpa:  Where did he find a bear?
Trace: at the zoo.
Grandpa:  He shot bears at the zoo?
Trace:  Yeah, and I rode an elephant with my spurs on. And there was a baby elephant and I picked him up.

Mom, I picked up a baby elephant and took him back to his mom. I put him down in his pen and said "Here you go little fella."

He told his dad yesterday that a cow ran him over again but then a deer came by and picked him up with his horns. "He was a really nice deer dad"

A text message from the daycare lady: Trace just asked me for paper and crayons so he could draw eyes....to put on his feet so they can see where he's going....

This kid makes me laugh everyday!

Ugh!

And I come home from Vegas to this...

We had to get our ceiling redone because the original guys made it look like a mess! Now I have dust everywhere and I'll need to spot paint some of the walls. Welcome back to reality I guess. Ugh!!

National Finals Rodeo

The National Finals Rodeo is something that Heath has wanted to go to ever since I've known him and his dream came true this year! It was pretty neat to be there for the BIG RODEO.

Free concerts on Fremont Street. We got to see Montgomery Gentry.

The strip

And I'm glad I got to share this experience with my friend and sister in law, April.

The rodeo with some pretty sweet seats!

All the cowboys and cowgirls.

Another Deer Season in the Books

This weekend was packed full of deer hunting, choir singing, and Christmas decorating. I usually do not get the Christmas decor out until after Thanksgiving but I didn't know if I would have time to get everything out until mid-December. So while the men were hunting I decorated the house with Christmas joy. Tonight we are getting started on making deer jerky.
Today Sydney sang in the choir at church again. She even made the decision to skip hunting with her dad and went to church instead.

This Thursday is Thanksgiving and we are heading to Fremont for Thanksgiving/Christmas with the Aspy's. I just hope the weather is good...it doesn't sound good, snow and ice is expected for Thanksgiving which can put a wrench into our plans.

Cattle Sale

Two weeks ago we sold our spring calves at the Ericson Sale Barn. Of course the cattle market is way down from what it was last year but that is life. The kids sure enjoyed the sale...Trace was even giving pointers to the sale barn workers when they left a cow in the sale ring. He stood up and yelled, "Yeah fellas, you forgot this cow!"

Deer Season

Deer season is in full swing around here. Heath has had some good luck so far, he got a really nice 6x4.

As for me and the kids we are staying inside and keeping warm. Sydney and I made festive rice crispies. Yummy!

The weather has sure turned, it's freezing cold and raining. It's good for the hunters but not so good on me. :)

Happy Halloween

The kids had a good time trick or treating yesterday! My little Vampire and Ninja Turtle. The kids did a good job going door to door getting candy. Trace decided to get into a fight with a blow up Pumpkin. He walked up to a house with the big pumpkin and started punching it. 😀 I had to peel him away from the pumpkin. Oh that boy!!!

The kiddos

And I decided to dress up with them as a peacock.

Cowboy Lessons

Trace learned some cowboy lessons today. When mom and dad say leave the calves alone and then scream run....u better do as they say. Trace walked straight up the the head of the calf and then BOOM, the calf charged him. Knocked him down and went right over top of him. Trace is fine of course but it really scared him, which I don't think is a bad thing. This child of mine is fearless and this is a good lesson for him. He maybe a little sore but he will be fine.

After, sitting on top of Pepper with his sister.

Chum Party

Chambers Public School has a Chum Program which is when they pair a grade schooler with a high schooler to be "chums". They organize parties for the young kids and just have a great time! Today they had a Halloween Party at the school and the kids get to wear their costumes.

Sydney as a vampire! She LOVED her makeup.

Sydney with her Chum, Sydney Beed. The two Sydney's. :)
